Me and the hubs...we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary last June. Didja know that? "Is that all? It feels more like twenty," is what he always says. Such a funny guy. We've known each other for about 19 years. (Holy heck, batman! Am I really that old????) The point is...after all this time, we are best friends, still in love, and find each other hilarious! Thank goodness!

Just thought I would drop in (a few days late, but hey, what else is new?) to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I certainly hope that you had a great holiday season!

I'm not really one to make resolutions...mostly because I don't usually keep them, but I do like to make goals. So, I've set forth a few goals for my blog this year. When I first started this blog a year ago, I wondered if I would be able to see it through. Well, as you can see, I've made it a whole year (Yea Me!) and have plans to continue. And change. Initially I was looking for a way to get the grandparents and other family members to quit yelling at me for not sending pictures often enough, however, I've come to realize that more non-family members read my blog than family members. (Thanks alot, fam!) So in order to cater to the interests of all my readers, I will be expanding to things other than my children. Don't worry, you'll still get plenty of them because gosh darn it, they are cute, aren't they? It's just that I'll be adding things that I'm interested in such as crafts, my never-ending quest to spend less & save more, digital scrapbooking, and whatever else pops up. I also plan on organizing the blog a bit better & adding all of the blogs and websites I like to frequent. I'm hoping to also have a very big surprise sometime during the year, but don't know how long it will be before my dream becomes a reality, so that's all the hints you get for now!

Thanks again for reading my blog in 2009 & I hope you continue to read in 2010! I love getting your comments and feedback, so please continue to leave them.

Halloween Background

I created this super cute background and header with Summer Driggs FREE digital scrapbook goodies. She has tons of them & they are gorgeous! Only when I got it on here did I realize that it was too dark for the fonts. Then I couldn't figure out how to change the colors on my special fonts. So, they're all staying the way they are because it's only a few days until Halloween and I hope you can read everything. I'm sure I can design something else for next week!

Rah! Rah! Rah!

As promised, here are the pics of Lil' Coconut from the cheerleading photo session. Once again, I took the photos. And I wasn't alone. Most of the parents had their cameras, and we ended up doing much more than the photographers did, and if I do say so myself, a much better job. In the slideshow below, the only pose the photographers arranged was the team picture with the megaphone. All the rest were arranged by me or the parents as a whole. I chose my favorites for this layout. Golly, my kids are cute!

Also for you enjoyment(if you're a grandparent!), I have included another slideshow of the last football games.

Under Construction! An Update!

Okay, so I got a little frustrated with changing the fonts, but it's working now. (I hope!) Also, you may notice a change in the labels. I wanted to add the label list to the sidebar, but when I did, the sheer number of them overwhelmed me. So I've condensed them to some more generic terms. I'm also planning on making cute little picture labels to replace the text labels, and making proper lists of all my favorite blogs & websites...when I get the chance. Let me know what you think of the new design, and if there's anything you want to see.
I also have not forgotten about the actual blogging. I do have some new pictures that I would love to share. However, ever since I cleaned off my desk to move it, I can't find the little doohickey that lets me upload easily. Whenever I find it, or the usb cable for the camera, I will get right on that.

An Early Birthday Present

Happy Early Birthday to Me!!!! Auntie C. heard my moanings and groanings & bought me Photoshop Elements 7 with Premiere Elements 7 as an early birthday present!!! I am so excited. I've been playing around, and although it isn't much, I wanted to show you my first Photoshop edited picture! Now, I love this photo of Bug from vacation just as it is, but knew it could be better. I followed the step-by-step instructions from Pioneer Woman (link in sidebar) on layering in Photoshop. It honestly took about 1 minute to edit this photo. Saving it the right way so I could share it here? About 20.

This has been a test....

and you have all failed miserably! You were all given strict instructions when I started this blog to give me a gentle nudge (or a swift kick in the patooie, whichever you prefer) if I went more than 2 weeks without blogging! You've let me go 23 days now!!!! Shame on you! Okay, shame on me. Is anyone even out there? Is this thing on??

Seriously, I have a bazillion and one things to blog about, but just haven't had the time. I promise to do at least one post today or tomorrow. If it's not up by Sunday morning, please gently (or not so gently, whichever you prefer...really) remind me. Thank you!!!

If you know me...

...and you probably do if you're reading this, you know that coming back and finding new posts on a regular basis is like having snow in south Texas. It happens, just not very often. LOL

Okay, okay! So this is my new project for 2009. Last year's website didn't turn out so well, but I'm determined to give this the old college try. Like other friends who've turned to blogging, I'm constantly being bombarded with the "I don't have any NEW pictures of the kids!" types of conversations. Yes, I DO take lots of pictures. No, I DON'T send them very often because it takes FOREVER to load onto e-mail. Perhaps this will be faster. Also, I've just recently become intrigued by blogging. Check out my blog list (as soon as I post it) to see who I like to read about. Now, enough about me. On to the real reason why you're here! Our cuties!

This is Bug. The firstborn, and it shows. He's kind, caring, and a GREAT big brother. He's a 3rd grader now (boy, do we feel old! LOL) who loves math and science. Say what? LOL He loved playing football last season & can't wait to play again this year. He's also considering baseball in the spring.

This is our Lil' Coconut! She's loud, too smart for her own good, and a sweetheart. She's a 1st grader who totally loves school, and playing with her friends. She was in cheerleading & we figure by the time she reaches high school, she should be a shoe-in for head cheerleader. Lil' C is also considering baseball in the spring. She's left handed, but bats right handed on the Wii. Look out!

This is Pinky Lee, Pinks, or Mary Moo Cow. I'll probably refer to her as any one of these, so try to keep up. We call her all these things depending on everyone's mood and the situation. She's the only one with strawberry blonde hair, and the only one with blue eyes. She's 2 and out to prove it! Sweet one minute & running through the house screaming at the top of her lungs the next. There's also this terrible habit of pulling her little brother by his feet across the room. Still, she's a cutie patootie & we love her to death.

Meet our newest addition: Boo Boo Bear! Boo Boo is about to be 1 year old!!! OMGoodness, time just flies. He's a sweet, sweet boy with a wonderful personality. And yes, he's already had that beautiful hair cut. It's just like everyone elses & grows like a weed. He's a blessing every day.

So I'm starting the year off right, and you know what they say about whatever you do on New Year's Day....blah blah blah. Let's hope for the best. And if I fall off the wagon, just post a comment about getting back on.
