Okay, I admit it. I just don't get how to use Google Reader. I have it and I have many blogs that I subscribe to, but don't understand it. I still have to jump to the blog or website to read the entire post. The same summary is available on my blog dashboard. It just makes more sense to me to visit the actual blog/website. Of course, I didn't get the whole idea of Facebook when one of my BFF's convinced me to sign up about 5 or 6 years ago. Now you can't keep me off of it!
Can somebody please tell me how to use Google Reader effectively???

Oh I love my google reader!I read your blog on my reader. :) Maybe you can change the settings in the google reader to show the whole post. I believe it is in the top left hand sidw where it says "show" you can choose expand or list. I can see the whole post one after another. I also set up folders of similar blogs. I have homeschool blogs, home decorating blogs, inspirational blogs, friends blogs etc. This way if I only have time to check in on my friends I can and browse through the rest when I have more time. Also I can star things like recipes or ideas that I want to remember and can go back to them later. I hope that helps. It can get pretty addicting though to collect blogs. I think I have 153 now! ACK.
ReplyDeleteYay! Thank you! That really helped. In the spot where it says expanded & list, it APPEARED as though I was already in expanded mode...but apparently not. Now I can see the whole post & I much prefer that. Also, thanks for the tip about organizing blogs. I do that on my favorites. I love organizing! Thanks again! :)
